Site additions Well, well, well, it seems that I've fully converted almost all of the once-static pages to a new instance of Movable Type that I'm using for a content management system. Along with that, I've got benjiesdict online finally, you can czech it out over at text or extras or whatever. There's certainly more entries to be added; if you think there's one in particular that really ought to be there, shoot off a good definition to the benjiesdict email address. Also, I made a bunch more header images, mostly space-shuttle-related, since I've always thought it looked cool (and also NASA images are free XD). Individual Post | Comments (2) 01:59 0403.27 This Way Into Boundless Eternity It keeps occuring in m mind that, for some reason, today was some big day-- some sort of major turning point. And I can't reconcile this idea, since I keep looking back, and recounting that nothing important happened today. Well, I'm sure something important happened to someone, somewhere today, but nothing important happened to me, and It's All About the Benjamins. Yeah. But there's just this something that I'm not able to logically reconcile, this something that says "today marks the start of something different; from this point forward, things will be different from the way they were before." And I don't quite know what to make of this, as today was a fairly usual, fairly enjoyable, day-- nothing particularly out of the ordinary. The start of things are often hard to differentiate from the ends of what came before, so maybe this fairly ordinary day was the start of something new and different; maybe today I really did pass a sign marked "This Way Into Boundless Eternity." I don't know. I don't know at all. But this is my space, and I will do with it as I see fit. Individual Post | Comments (1) 01:40 0403.23 HYPER SPRING BREAK SYNOPSIS Mmm, Spring Break was most excellent. Sleeping in a bed longer than I am: 50 Bajillion. Not eating caf food: 65 Bajillion. Kicking butts and fat beats in an icy Range: 1.2 Glorb. Hanging out with most excellent high school friends and inventing perfectly cromulent monetary units: PRICELESS. Yeah, so hung out with the most excellent Schoolies, did stuff with the fam. Went to Chicago with the Stegemollers the last few days of the week. Visited some museums, ate some food; it was pretty fun. Hit up the Shake and Steak with the Schoolies on Samstag and partied with them at my house aftwerwards. More fun was had by all, or something. Dude, school better get over quickly. Seriously. Oh, also, I got those really nice Sony Headphones (the MDR-700DJ), and they're very quality. Individual Post | Comments (1) 23:26 0403.11 Shameless Plug; new stuff You know, I could really use some new headphones, these $5 ones on permanent loan from Sean (Seanson, not Seamus) are currently being held together with large amounts of tape, and also have crap acoustics. So, I put some nice Sony Headphones on my Amazon.com Wish List the other day. These aren't the most awesome Sony Headphones ever, but nobody can have it all, you know. Oh, also, I've decided to revamp the way the site works by having almost the entire thing generated by movable type (as opposed to me making one-off stuff in notepad and hacking new stuff in every so often), except, for, like, the message board and the image galleries, but, whatever. I'm hoping to have this done over Spring Break, but due to the fact that my server has been excessively slow and fairly disenterested in maintaining an FTP session for more than a few minutes (a problem which the guys at Globat are currently working on) who knows if I can meet this pseudodeadline. Individual Post | Comments (3) Spring Break is coming And on Tuesday, March 16th at 8:00 PM EST, I'm inviting all my Zionsville Metropolitan Area friends (this means you) over to Neuhaus for a party of much excellence. I don't know what we'll do, but it'll probably end up involving the Fabulous Neuhaus Basement and the 106" HDTV 5.1 DTS Surround Sound Neuhaus Theater. If you wanna come, leave a comment. If you (where you is primarily directed at Matt Kramer, for whatever reason) know of people that'll be in town but may or may not read this, especially if you have conact information, peep me about it or something. Individual Post | Comments (4) 02:20 0403.8 "Got it" just don't get it Blah. I haven't been my normal Today wasn't particularly eventful; I guess instead of the usual Sontagabend viewing of Family Guy DVDs in Dusty's room we had a Sontagabend viewing fo Family Guy in Megan's room, which was a lot less fun than normal. I don't care if Megan was there or not, the fact that the girls' dorm rooms have lineoleum floors and an utter dearth of non-bed seating totally blows. I had better get into Cone next year, I don't think I'm going to come back here if I end up in one of the boys' dorms with similar appointments. Individual Post | Comments (2) 17:22 0403.3 I wonder if I've ever used 'Pants' for a title before... Well, anyhow. Nothing much to say here; I guess today is Ivan's birthday, although I wasn't quite sure if I just dreamed that this morning or if I could just hear him and Lance and that other guy talking about it in my room while I was asleep. Watched School of Rock last night at Dusty and Aaron's, it was most excellent. After that, Dusty showed Urn and Bretterson how to sound like a master blues guitarist in thirty seconds, which was absolutely hillarious. Dusty was wearing his (normally cool) cargo sweatpants and this horrendous yellow t-shirt with its sleeves ripped off, and it reminded me of that bit from Family Guy, where, after discovering how to play the banjo, Stewie exclaims, "I feel so delightfully white trash! Mommy, I want a mullet!" Also, oddly enough, I watched a segment about the Trapper Keeper on that omnipresent televized junk-food-equivalent I Love the '80s Strikes Back. The celebrity in the primary interview clip for the segment went on about the trapper keeper specifically and keeping track of papers in general, mentioning how in the first few weeks of school, one would be all enthused about keeping everything organized and folderized and collated and such, but by the time one reached into one's backpack and "pulled out that crumpled worksheet on the War of 1812, it was like 'Well, there's always next year to be organized.'" That's a fairly accurate description of me in, say, every grade I did worksheets. And who, you may or may not be asking, was this celebrity interviewee? John Mayer. A group photography project in my Hopper! class was really bothering, since my group completely failed to understand that the photgraphic concept of 'line' has nothing to do with people standing in lines. I talked to Hopper! about it today, and about some other stuff, and feel a lot better about it; he confirmed that, basically, I'm right and their wrong and that a few pictures of people in line would have been cute or funny or something, but 27 pictures would have been "a cop-out." Yeah, I enjoy feeling vindicated. I slept all afternoon for no good reason. Ordered some Pizza Hut, and it was only $7-something for a large, and they delievered promptly, so I'm never ordering Pizza Pro ever again. Cleaned the bathroom floor for health instpections or whatever the heck that is tomorrow. Yuck. I need to buy some more juice, it's just Vernor's or 7UP or water right now, which gets boring after a while. As I mentioned over on Matt's blog, I'm thinking of having partyage back up at Neuhaus, tentative date Tuesday, 16 March 2004 8:00 PM EST. No approval from the units yet, so, you know, just wanting to put it out in the open or whatever. Individual Post | Comments (8) |
